Torker Named Best Unicycle by Readers Digest

READER’S DIGEST NAMES TORKER UNICYCLE AS “BEST OF AMERICA”

Pleasantville, NY (April 16, 2006): TORKER BICYCLES of Kent, WA. has been named “BEST OF AMERICA” by the editors of Readers Digest magazine. This celebration of quirky, amazing and truly extraordinary is featured in the May issue; on newsstands April 18th.

After speaking to hundreds of experts and ordinary folk, the editors tested, tasted and debated everything from the Best Sandwich to the Best Must-Have Gadgets to the Best Buzz Cut. The resulting list is organized in six categories – Legacies, Passions, Adventure, Innovations, TimeOff and Connections.

“Our country is full of hidden treasures, creative products and inspiring stories that often don’t grab the national spotlight,” says Readers Digest Editor-in-Chief Jackie Leo. “We had great fun putting this lively and surprising issue together.”

Torker Bicycles, a division of Seattle Bike Supply, has become the industry leading brand for one-wheeled fun. They have 12 unique models, for all style of Unicycle riding, available in a variety of wheel sizes (16”, 20”, 24” and 26”). Torker Uni’s continue to grow in popularity due to their wide range of price and unique models.

Torker’s Special Edition “CX” unicycle, with its unique green flame paint scheme, is featured as the 45th ranked item in the “Beat of America” article.

“Being named by Reader’s Digest as one of America’s Best is a tremendous honor,” stated SBS president Chuck Hooper. “Riding a Unicycle seems to be growing in popularity, and we’re glad that the majority of Americans riding them are now doing it on a Torker.”

Readers Digest “America’s 100 Best” can be identified by State or Category on www.rd.com/boa – where readers can nominate entries for next years’ collection.

Well, I guess that is sort of true. The LX is probably one of the best learners. The DX makes a fairly MUni/Trials but by no means the best. I would say that unicycle.com is the best place to get a unicycle. Im not sure what other companies manufacture in the states, if thats what the article is talking about. Also, not that many trials/muniers use Torkers… But whatever, saying that unicycling is a hidden gem is great press!

huh…well its obvious they didn’t test out all the brands of uni’s. torker the best uni’s?

They did not name Torker as “best uni”. They called unicycles as “best balancing act” and named the Torker CX as a good learner.
