Torker DX unistar 20" tube

Hey, has anybody ever changed a Torker DX unistar 20" tube before because I am having trouble getting the tire off because the tire is so fat. Also, do you know where I can get a tube for it? I looked on www.unicycle.com and I think the only one there was for a 24". I may have trouble getting the tire back on because I can’t even get it off; so can you help in getting it back on. I don’t even know how it popped.:frowning:

You can get a tube for it at your local bike shop, any 20x1.95-2.125 tube will fit. Also you should get some strong plastic tire levers that won’t damage your rim I got ones at my local bike shop that are plastic but warrantied for life against breaking.

Getting a tyre off the rim is much easier if you make sure you push the bead of the tyre (the inside wired bit that touches the rim) into the middle of the rim. Most rims are smaller in the middle and will give you some more slack for getting the first bit of the tyre over the rim. Same with getting it back on. Before you pump it back up make sure you haven’t pinched the tube between the tyre and the rim (putting a tiny bit of air in the tube when refitting the tyre helps to stop it getting pinched).

As for buying a new tube, it should be pretty easy to get from most bike shops or UDC.

Wait… A tube that skinny will fit in a maxxis creepy crawler tire? It is huge!

yeah it will fit. I had to look for it but i found it.

I agree. Get some good tire levers from a bike shop and not a place like Walmart. I bought some from Walmart and they were way too flexible. The ones I got from the bike shop were stiffer.

The first time I took the tire off my Summit (similar to a DX), it took me three hours. I had never changed a bike/unicycle tire before and I did not realize it takes some brute force to get it off. Now I can get the tire off the rim in about 10 minutes but it is still a challenge.

Does anybody have a link to website for United States to get that tube?

thats the only place i have seen them. i think i have seen them on maxxis.com but I went back and never fund them. Go to google and type in the name of that tube and see what you get

I have a link in my sig for pesky trials tires coming on and off.

Also, online you can get a real trials tire, but waiting for it to arrive will suck, I have also heard of using some moped tires and that will work on a trials tire.

What I do, is to just buy a regular 20x2.125, put it in, fill it up and ride. The tube expands easily to fill out the tire, and it works perfectly. There are some 20x2.125 tubes that are really thick and dont expand as well as the thinner tubes, so when you use that kind, it will take a while to get used to having the tube being filled up differently then the tire.

Go to your LBS or to walmart, and buy a regular 20x2.125 tube, it will cost less then 10 dollars, and it works.

here is a link in the us that has what may workhttp://www.unicycle.com/shopping/shopexd.asp?id=310 hope it helps

Thanks! I actually found a tube that fits it at Walmart and I got the tube off with four screwdrivers and getting the tube back on was easy so it is all good.
