Few weeks ago I read some suggestions regarding how to fix the Torker caps falling off.
Mine fell off the first day I after I got my new Torker.
I cannot find that post.
How do I fix those caps not to fall?
Thanks

Unicycle.com has the Vuelta alloy dust caps in the online catalog now, but they don’t yet have a picture of them. They’re $3.95 which is a very good price for alloy dust caps.

I don’t have a way of posting a picture, but I have a set for my Torker. I talked the Drummunds into bringing them in, because I was having a difficult time finding anyone who sold them. I am very happy and haven’t had a problem with them coming off since putting these on. I drove over the plastic ones after the first week. So since I told them that I thought they should have no problem selling them, get a set so I don’t look bad.
I’ve lost both of mine,
Are those thingy’s really THAT imortant.
I really don’t know. Someone please tell me if they are.
The dust caps protect the crank extractor threads from getting damaged. If you ride without a dust cap the crank extractor threads may get damaged when the unicycle drops on the ground or dirt gets ground into the threads. If the crank extractor threads get too damaged it can be very difficult to remove the crank. This would be more of an issue for an off-road unicycle than a freestyle unicycle. This is also more of an issue with aluminum cranks than steel cranks because aluminum cranks are softer and the threads are more prone to damage.
The other function of the dust cap is cosmetic. It just looks better to have dust caps on the cranks.
Alloy dust caps will not fall off like the plastic dust caps.
