Are titanium Muni frames any better over conventional steel Muni frames? Do they have any technical drawbacks when compared to a steel Muni frame?
Does anyone make them?

That’s not what you said when you sold me your old Titanium frame, Jagur. I believe it was “yes, no, yes”, and “Pyramid makes the very finest, second only to Savage’s Magnesium forks.”
Still, at $600, I think he cut me a good deal- I aint complaining!

Titanium frames will always be very cool, but my opinion is that it’s not a high priority for
trials or offroad unicycles, relative to other issues such as frame design or components. This is
simply because the frame is such a small percentage of the total weight of the unicycle.

Which titanium frames? You have to compare two specific frames to have an
accurae answer.

There’s cost, if you consider that a technical drawback. The other one is
the difficulty of working with the material. I guess that’s part of why it
costs so much to make things out of it.

The only titanium unicycle I know of is one that Dan Heaton had made for
him. I would love a titanium-frame unicycle, but I have to agree with Kris
Holm that it wouldn’t make much difference in the quality of the unicycle
for MUni. The tire alone outweighs a steel frame in some cases, so switching
to titanium will still leave you with a relatively heavy unicycle.
For a freestyle uni, on the other hand, titanium might be a little more
compelling. Again, frames are usually one of the last things to break on a
unicycle, so the technical need isn’t there as much as the desire for the
cool, exotic material.

This one is clearly a freestyle frame. So that makes at least two. I wonder
how they’re both working out!
