Tire clearance on a 20" miyata

Hi,

I am wondering how much room there is for a tire on a 20" standard miyata
frame? Would there be enough for the primo 2.1?

Thanks, -Dan

Off the top of my head, the regular 20 x 1.75 tires on a Miyata don’t have
much clearance around them. At a guess, I’d have to estimate that 2.1"
will not fit. But the only way to really know is to get a measurement,
which I don’t have handy.

What I do know however, is that you can have much tighter tolerances
between tire and fork on a Miyata than you can with more flexible designs
like Schwinn and Semcycle.

I usea 20x2.1 Primo “The Wall” tire on my Miyata 20" Flamingo. It’s a
rather old Flamingo–it has the old style Miyata seat that has no handles.
The tire fits with plenty of room to spare.

Good luck,
