To residents of the area the North Shore is just another part of town like the ‘Eastside’ or the ‘Westend’ but to mtn bikers (and MUni’ers) its the NORTH SHORE, a network of trails that is an amazing playground for the wheeled set.
And though I have been doing some MUni’ing, shall we say ‘to the north of town’ I have not ventured on the NORTH SHORE trails… that is until today. And then what a fantastic adventure I had!
Roots and rocks like I’ve never ridden before - what an abundance, its like they grow 'em here… yes the mother lode of roots and rocks! And there were some ladders and log rides as well as some very cool bluffs and fabo drops. And all that on one of the easier trails!
Needless to say I had an awesome ride with a few spectacular dismounts thrown in. I didn’t actually ‘ride’ every inch of the way but then, like I always say, gotta save some of the gnarly sections for future rides.
Yeah, I’ll be going back there, heading over the bridge to the North Vancouver mountains to do some more riding on the NORTH SHORE!
You are so lucky to live within easy access of one of the world’s mountain bike meccas! If Kris Holm could learn to ride the way he does there, just think of what you could learn as well!
Sure, I’m not complaining about my local riding choices either, but they’re not the North Shore…
Re: Theres the North Shore then theres the NORTH SHORE!
Erin, that’s great you finally went for it! If I were you, I’d be up there
every weekend - maybe you will be soon! Riding that terrain will improve
your skills SO fast.
Re: Re: Theres the North Shore then theres the NORTH SHORE!
Yup, I intend to ride up there quite a bit this summer - actually more on the weekdays than the weekends as I hear it gets crazy busy up there on the weekends.
BTW, welcome back from the NUT Nathan. I enjoyed following your group’s progress via the web site. Sounded like a really fantastic trip. Way to go you Cokerheads!
Re: Re: Re: Theres the North Shore then theres the NORTH SHORE!
I’ll second that. You guys did a fantastic job with the web site and documenting your progress and adventures. Loved the quotes of the day. Now I just need to figure out how I can find time to do an UT.
