what does everyone think about this topic i think it would be awsome to have a live chat room so if you had a question you could just ask it and then be on your way instead of waiting on a reply also it would be more fun to talk to like 30 people at once lol
It would only work well if people constantly were on it. Chat rooms and IRC has been made and tried before and works well for the first day, after that people start posting in the thread to get people to go online and then no one really uses them ever.
But good luck.
If it was website integrated and placed on the same bar as forums or calendar, and then below showed active chat members, I think it’d be useful. As an example, dreamviews.com (edit:just noticed you can’t see it if you’re not a member, attached pic below has it) has a great chat with users in it a lot of the time.
OK that’s cool thank you but how well would you think a unicycle chat would go over maybe for like limited hours or something so people are on it more is its not boring like 7PM-1AM or something like that just would seem to be cool
The only problem with that is that this forum isn’t centrally located in one area. Something like that would work on something say like, a hockey team forum for a certain city, because they are mainly all within the same time zone. Here however, we have users from USA, Australia, Europe, etc, where it would be really biased and not fair to those who wouldn’t have the opportunity to have easy accessibility to the time of open chat. +, some people can only access the site early or later in the day, and once again, depending on the time zone, it wouldn’t work out for many.
Here in Chicago it’s 12:36 a.m. and there’s 8 people in the chat at DV and they have around the same amount of people signed up at their forum as we do (21k vs 19k, their lead), so I think a normal chat would work fine.
