Today and tomorrow we celebrate the birth of the Savior of the world. Whether you are a follower of Christ or not, I hope you find joy and peace at this singular time of year when we can all turn our hearts to one another in friendship, forgiveness, and good will.
This Community is one of the finest to be found anywhere on the internet. We all have a unique bond that brings us together. Almost everything I have ever read here is positive, encouraging, educational, and helpful. I have seen people from all over the world, of all ages and backgrounds, reach out and help each other in selfless ways.
To date I have not met even one of you in person (I will next week, woohoo!), but I have felt much friendship, acceptance, and support. Thank you. Thanks to all of you.
I believe that Jesus is our Savior and Friend, and that His whole purpose is to bring peace and joy to each of us, and to this whole world. Whatever you hold dear in your religious beliefs I hope you will share in this peaceful time of year. I find great satisfaction in wishing this entire Unicyclist Community a very Merry Christmas!
I don’t particularly make use of the event myself, but I thank you for your sincere wishes and I trust that you and your family will have a fabulous time.
Merry Christmas to you NSYO, wishing you love, comfort and much joy in the coming year.
I saw the best thing on the trip back from visiting my young nephew, two kids on brand new cycles, unicycles no less!! They were being very brave riding on the very slippy, compacted snow of the paths (sidewalks).
I gave my 20" Torker trainer to my 15yo nephew today and spent less than an hour working with him and his last ride went about 20 feet unsupported! So his learning curve is muuuuuuuuch steeper than mine was I think it was day 5-7 before I could go that far. Ah to be so young!
And I become reflective about what I could contribute to the international nature of the forum at this time of year.
Sorry I couldn’t find the original video to go with the song.
I really loved the Christmas lights growing up. The rich reds and greens , that seemed to be about building anticipation. I was sure it all was done for me.
When I was 8, this song would have have explained it all.
I love Christmas, but I hate the season.
Comercialism takes over as people give for feeling of obligation, not actual thoughtfulness in the fullest sense.
Radios play Xmas music from Thanksgiving to the Dec. 25, then stop.
Everyone gets edgy and ‘politically correct’ by not expressing their constitutional freedom of religion for fear of offending others, and the true spirit is lost.
No one wishes a merry Christmas after the day itself, and those who have no clue what they’re talking about say that the twelve days are those leading up to Christmas when it’s really those after ending with Jan. 6, the epiphany, or coming of the magi
Everyone gives presents relating to violence, sex, or self-care/promotion of egocentricism (none of which are virtuous in the Chrisitan faiths- the whole root of the Christmas thing)
Everyone gets stressed out making everyone else comfortable, and half the stuff given just gets lost or thrown out anyways.
We need to revert to the true sense!
Thankyou for permiting my ranting, and my apologies for any redundancies.
Merry Christmas to you all!
(if I remember, I’ll wish you all a Merry Christmas and good health again on Twelfth Night- the true end)
