Has anyone noticed that guy’s tongue in Defect bonus footage?
He rolls it out and it’s kind of split in two and he moves it in a snake fashion. I’ve seen Defect about twenty times, including the bonus footage, but I only just noticed the tongue.
Now, the question: what the hell is that?! Is it some kind of a birth defect(hehehe) or is it one of those body modifications that people do to themselves nowadays?
Does anybody know?
I believe it is a body modification, I have heard of people doing that…it’s really weird.
Its a mod called tongue bifurication, people often learn to articulate the two halves seperately after the operation. They’re often done by laser surgery, although other techniques such as piercing the tongue and then tieing a thin cord though the hole and tightening periodically until it cuts through the flesh, or simple scalpel cutting are also common.
I heard that people have to learn how to move both parts or they’ll grow back together. Whether that’s true or not…I dunno.

Basically, I don’t see any good reason to cut a V in your tongue with a knife. It’s just stupid*, there’s no other word for it.
*Unless there is actually a case where it is called for, e.g. to fight off cancer. I’m mostly just saying this so no one can jump on me for generalizing.

OK, i can see some value in it, at worst it doesn’t hurt anyone else. I think heavy body mods are one of those things that people either get or don’t, and there’s little you can do to change how people think, so I’m not really going to try.
I do however have issue with the idea that any ‘decent’ girl would be so shallow as to never have a sexual relationship with a person based on a minor feature of their appearance.
