After nearly breaking another miyata seat, I decided it’s really time to
go for a carbon fiber seat base + suspension post.
So I’ll need the wilder rail bracket. The question is (I can’t see it from
the pictures on unicycle.com) : are the bracket + rail attachement adding
a lot of extra height to the seat ? It seems for instance the Cane Creek
post is adding some height.
On my pashley, my miyata seat post end is almost 1 cm above the 2.6 tire
and it’s the limit if I want to ride efficiently (I’m 1m80 tall) - so
extra height could be an issue on that 26’’ uni.
I’m not quite sure how much a seat post can be shortened and still
be viable.
The Wilder bracket adds a little less than 1.5 inches to the length of the
post. You might be a tad short for that suspension post.
There is nothing wrong with a good quality rigid MTB or BMX post instead
of a suspension post. Carbon fiber base + Wilder bracket + Roach cover +
air pillow + rigid MTB post + Miyata bumpers = one strong sweet seat.
