The Police Robbed Me of Free Trials Obstacle

Coming home from a friend’s house the other night I drove past a place where trains are loaded with cargo, and there was a big pile of wooden crates up for grabs. No sooner did I pull into the lot and back my car up to the pile than a cop cruiser drives up.

After the expected “hey, what are you doing? Ohh yeah, well what are you going to do with these crates after you take them?” and I told him that they were for unicycling I got a long stare that passed from me to my torker on the ground (which I took out of my trunk to put

“I remember you. You’re the kid I kicked out of Kidsports a few months ago!”

(I was. There were stairs on a slope with metal edges that were perfect for grinding in front of a closed down Kidsports I found a while ago. Apparently they’re not perfect with the law.)

I was then told to get back in my car and go home and that he “didn’t want to catch me and my wheel thing around anymore.”

Me and my wheel thing! The guy was a dick, and I didn’t feel like fighting him and telling him that I wasn’t riding but just taking the sign up on it’s offer, so I just went home… and now with leaving for the beach tomorrow I can’t go pick them up, and I am left crateless…

Bah.

That one on top was all I really wanted too… It was about 4 feet long and glorious…

Did you get his badge number? If the crates were clearly marked as free, he was acting out of line.

Put grinding does destroy property so he did have a right to kick you off the property in that instance.

what a poohead…you should’ve ignored him and taken the crates, because he isn’t allowed to stop you.

For those of you under 18 who think that your rights trump the will of angry policeman, please reconsider.

Get an adult who to accompany you, but don’t think that a policeman with an attitude - which is a tiny minority of them - cannot completely ruin your day, even if you are right.

Mistercookieface87, I’m sorry you didn’t get your ramp. You were probably well within your rights. But you did the right thing by leaving.

If you can return with an adult, that’s what I would advise. Sorry if the vacation eclipses the opportunity, but a policeman with an attitude can always find a pretext for running you in. Don’t give him any additional reasons. And disobeying him will be construed as the reason he needs.

Congrats on avoiding an even worse scenario.

okay, you’re kind of right munipsycho…but I don’t think it was necessarily the ‘right’ thing to leave. he should’ve talked to the cop about it, and asked why the cop wanted him to leave. because as far as I know, there was no reason…

Bummer.

I just picked up some free crates the other day like that.

So the cop doesn’t want you to take your unicycling into your own garden. so presumably he’d prefer you to go find somewhere else to mash up around town. oh, wait, that’s where they definately don’t want you.

what a dumb cop

shooo, you should have pulled out the 9 and let one slip into that fool

damn straight.

Fo’ Sho! Pop a cap in that pigs @$$. Shock hollah fo sheezy mo neezy.

Seriously though, cops can be that way. It’s their job. Don’t take it too personnally, and just go back and get thye crates later, he wont be gaurding them 24/7.

What you didn’t see was right when you pulled away he took them so he could do trials himself!

No seriously, I would have just put them in my car and acted like I didn’t hear him, or I would have just stared at him until he made a move.(makes people feel awkward)

If that fails, and ya still can’t get em, then yea, kill him.

Wait untill the next day, leave the uni at home, and then take them.

I know someone who’s a police officer and it’s best to avoid any confrontations with the fuzz. Just come back sometime later or get someone else to come and get them.
