the Poi Juggling debate continues

i’m posting this link here because the writer is quite a muni-person
(i didn’t think this quite cracks the nod for RSU tho…)

anyone have any idea who wrote this?

i have no idea who wrote it but…

I picked up poi (or POIntless to my friends) in a month and it took half an hour to get behind the back weaves going, and then a day to get it going reverse behind the back, and one handed butterfly was the second skill I learnt, i just simply cant agree

its kinda annoying how some people get so pissy about poi. poi is cool. i do it and with glow sticks at night it looks amazing. sure its easy to master, but who cares? its fun to learn new tricks and show off to your pals. and if every one is amazed at someones poi, instead of your five club mills mess thing, whining about how easy and stupid poi is wont get you anywhere.

i picked it up for two reasons
one was to be able to make better use of my fire-chains at some outdoor gigs i’d do
and two; to, once and for all, settle this ‘difficulty issue’ for myself

picking up behind-the-back weaves in half an hour is amazing
i’m still working on it
i suspect my (home-made) poi may be too long cause i keep clipping the ground, and yes, they do say ‘duh?!’ where i live

i must admit to being well bored with it now but atleast i picked up some more moves i can use with the fire-chains

yeah i didnt mean my post to sound anti-poi, i enjoy twirling but i dont rate it that highly as a skill, if you know what i mean, because its alot easier than learning various juggling tricks and more advanced uni skills.
im not knocking poi, just the article

It’s kind like that old fishing analogy. There’s a thin line between Poi and just standing around waving your arms like an idiot.

Its sounds to me that a juggler wrote that essay on poi.
