The Passion Of The Christ

Did you guys see dis movie? It is pretty powerfull. When i was there watching it a lady at the end was crying so hard she had two ppl holding her up on each side of her and she dropped her pop in the ile and it spilt all over. She dragged her feet the whole way to her car. Finally she fell down in the parking lot and was crying really hard.If you havent seen dis movie you should!!!Its very good!

Its a rip-off of the Matrix. That whole dieing for humanity thing. Besides that the movie is pretty good.

I thought the ending was way too predictable.

Well yea it should be predictable because thats what realy happend! Its not like there going to change the movie to make it different than what realy happend!!

dont you realize this story is from the bible!! This is what realy happend, the matrix is made up!!

But its Hollywood. I was waiting for him to come out of the tomb wearing a red cape, with a big JC on his chest and kick some Pharisee butt.

you know what else also happened? this thread. there was a couple of them about 8 months ago when it came out.

use the search button.

I wasnt on this forum 8 months ago!!

anyways i just wanted it to be said that that was a powerful movie and was exciting yet sad at the same time!

I thought it was icky. a very good movie, but still quite icky.

the search button is here everyday.

it was a good movie so was Elephant.

I never did see Elephant… that one looked really good.

It was z 12 minute snuff film stuff into 2 hours of fantastic cinematography. over rated. a lot.

also, prove it happened. i mean, sure the roman’s actually tortured people like that, and that sucks, but the whole rising from the grave thing is a tad suspect.

I hope those variables were properly initialized.

Ohh! I might have to watch it now.

it’s been about 5 years since i coded anything, especially in C++ so um, yeah…oops.

I thought the movie missed the point. It focused on the torture and suffering. All I felt was “oh that poor guy”, not “look how much he loves me”. I thought the movie did a poor job of portraying God’s love for us. Even if Jesus suffered little or none, it wouldn’t change the depth of God’s love for us.

Also, the movie (from what I have heard) focuses on Christ’s physical suffering. While physical suffering was certainly part of his atoning work on the cross, His suffering was primarily spiritual, as he suffered the full agony and torment of hell to earn salvation for His elect. There is no way that spiritual agony can be portrayed in a movie.

Any movie that attempts to portray Christ is blasphemous. Since Jesus was God, no human can properly portray Him, since all men are sinners, and cannot show God’s sinless perfection. The film is also solidly Roman Catholic, and the equivalent of a living crucifix. Protestants ought to have nothing to do with such an abomination.

There is something very significant in the fact that the actor who portrayed Christ was struck by lightning during the filming.

I dont think so…

Lee Trevino has been hit by lightening 2 times I think … what would you say to that …?

(Don’t respond, I know your thinking already… this was meant to irritate you. Just like the comment above irritated me.)

I didn’t see this movie, nor will I.
I don’t enjoy ‘suffering’ at all.

“If you are caught on a golf course during a storm and are afraid of lightning, hold up a 1-iron. Not even God can hit a 1-iron.” - Lee Trevino
