Well, after a long stint of learning the backend of an e-commerce platform, building content, photos, and Social Media links, I guess it’s time to announce that Mountainuni.com site is live and open for business! I wanted to work out some bugs and content anomalies before an official site launch, and now feel like we have cleaned things up nicely, and I’m proud to have a legitimate face to the business model, selling our own branded Disc Brake kits, Custom Built unicycles, and wheel Builds with the Mountainuni system. Initially our builds will be using Triton Frames, and will be adding a KH branded collection in the near future.
As many of you know, I’ve been working closely with KB1JKI over the past year to address questions about our Mountainuni Brake Kits, and Thanks to all of the early adopters of our system through the RSU forum. I also know there were equally as many members who liked the innovation, and supported the idea with interest and responses, but weren’t willing to purchase until we legitimized ourselves with a web presence.
Links on the Home page to Flikr, FB, Twitter, YouTube, our Blog and Mountainuni Ride Lists. Some folks are good with content & video editing, some are great with social media, and an even smaller subset are impressively great riders. I happen to possess varying degrees of the three, with less of the first two The content is light because we’ve spent our time creating, so suggestions for YouTube channel, pics to go up in the Customer gallery are welcomed!
Mountainuni has also made a $$ contribution to Webmaster Gilby as thanks for administering a great Unicyclist forum for all of us to enjoy, learn from and innovate through. Really cool! I’m glad to see Scott’s stuff coming back. The site looks nice and clean, the images look great. It is confusing trying to find stuff though, I think you should have a more traditional menu. I see the collections on the right side but there are a lot of products that I’ve stumbled on and don’t know how I’d find again without searching. Hopefully there’s enough demand for super high end unis.

I see that you have schlumpf specific instructions in the installation, how many people have been successfully riding the mountain uni setup on their kh/schlumpfs? Has Florian had any comments on it?
I think a year from now I’ll be able to get the 36" MUni. It’d be great if the geared version was available by then (please someone verify my grammar here, I really want to improve my English).
I’d also put a KH Slim with a T-Bar on it. I have found that soft cushioning only increases discomfort due to friction for me.

The site doesn’t have an actual catalog because the product I’m looking to sell is limited to the MEGA and MAX, Brake kits, seat builds and Triton Frames. The components that make up MAX and MEGA are listed below them, but these components are not available for individual purchase. I want to show that we’re using the best components available for builds, and their associated cost to show we’re competitive. However, I’m not in a position to be stocking, selling a KH hub for retail purchase as a standalone sale.
There is a KH collection 24, 29 and 36 that will be coming down the road, so think of Mountainuni like a boutique dealer of high end builds, and yes it will include Schlumpf builds when such an opportunities arises! The Wallis Design bases and components are in midst of re-designs, and we’ll be carrying the complete line when Scott is ready to announce it.
