I was riding around campus…and i noticed a group of girls out in front of a building, so i figure i’ll show off a little bit. I look around and see a ledge, the perfect opportunity. I hop up onto it and ride towards the edge where i intend to try and 360 off. By this point i’ve already obviously got everyones attention…I’m about halfway through the turn when i decide…i’m not gunna make it. So i bail, but the muddy ground below causes my feet to slip out from underneath me when they touch, and i fall on my stomach and face in a huge mud puddle. It was a long ride of shame back to my dorm covered in mud.
ya, my neighbors just moved in and thot unicycling was for clowns, so i did a 2 foot drop (it was big for me at the time) and i jumped off of the unicyle like 10 inches before i went off
wow that sounded embarrasing. I am usually doing something embarrasing anyway so i rarely have those moments. The most and probably only embarrasing thing to happen to me (from then i thought well it cant get worse) was when i was at a circus at about the age of 12 and they asked for volunteers. i foolishly put up my hand and was one of three people chosen. the first two people, in turn, were mounted on a donkey, fixed to a harness susspended from the roof and the donkey did 5 or so laps around the ring, stopped and they got off. i got up there, all strapped in and ready, the donkey began its rounds and on about the 4 time around the clown slapped the donkey on the back, it took off and i must say i have not gone faster that than up to this day, after about one cirlcle the donkey turned off and stopped, i was lifted up of the ass and began a speeding curve around the whole big top, everybody looking up at me from below. The clown decided he would jump up to catch me but unfourtunately he missed and grabbed my pants. i kept spinning and swung around a full big top circus tent in Sydney Aus with nothing but a shirt on. 4 times around, one could say i was “hung like a donkey”
I was not old enough to realise. there was heaps and heaps of people so there and it was hard to really recognise anyone who was in the ring, i just know that ever since that happend i have not been emmbarrased or humiliated, i felt nothing could really top that.
The first time I went in public on my unicycle…I couldn’t ride that well, but I could ride from A to B no problem. So I was riding and some people noticed me and were looking at me, so i got nervous and fell down. It was OK, i caught myself, so i didnt fall on the ground. So came the hardest step…mounting. Everyone looking, i was so nervous. Got up…yaay…right in the ditch…BAM, on the ground. They stopped looking:D
Luckily I never said my thoughts out loud…so it wasn’t embarrasing, anyways, there was this girl who came in late for a unicycle meeting, she had on a Puma t-shirt, and some jeans, and when she rode she had her arms out, fully stretched, and I can ride with my arms in, so I don’t need to stick them out, it’s a little uncomfortable, anyways, I think, “Wow, this girl has only been riding for two months and she already knows some unicyclists! I had to wait an entire year” Then we had this weird frrestyle competition, you came in, rode around, did some tricks if you knew them, and I was last, and so was she, (so we were together) and then she did some tricks, like the 1-foot wheelwalk. Lucky I didn’t say my thoughts aloud, that would have been disastrous!
lol sorry man. i have never actually told anyone up untill this year. Have you seen the people whom watched you bail? Just ask them to try and ride it if they even think of passing a derogative(sp?) comment
