I’m surprised this thread hasn’t popped up yet. We’re talking 500 year flood levels. WAY higher than the huge “100 year” flood that we had in '93. Levels are upwards of 20 feet above the RECORD stage set back in the 1800’s - which is, of course, scores above the flood stage.
Anyone affected by this that’s not too busy sandbagging to post?
I’m in Oregon now, but was 13 in '93 in Iowa, and 18 in '98 during the next biggest flood. I spent hours and hours sandbagging my town in '98 (Cedar Falls, Ia) and this is 10fold worse. I feel a bit useless over here on the west coast.
Yeah, a lot of people are underwater so to speak, but, our area isnt. Were totally fine here, and i doubt we’ll even get touched by any sort of flooding.
It wont be long, I would almost put money on it. Too bad for the flooding, I live in a reasonably flat area, in a villiage on a river. It never floods here though, but I’m safe any way, I have the highest house in the villiage basically (top of the hill)
Well, if Noah built an arc for all the lil’ aminals for 40 days, then with todays knowledge you could EASILY build one for 500 years. Maybe Dakoroman could come up with the designs.
