From a quite American perspective, truthout.org features a quite disturbing account on how the American civilisation could come to a grinding halt and collapse sooner than most people would suspect. Could be read as a call upon those in power to act responsibly in this fragile world.

Thanks for passing it on, Klaas. Sadly, I find his concluding remarks to be the least credible part of the entire piece.
