The Constitution

T H E C O N S T I T U T I O N

They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq … Why don’t we just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys, it has worked for over 200 years, and we’re not using it anymore.

While we’re at it, why don’t we just make them the 51st state?
Then they could have not only our constitution, but our entire government!

Israel already has that spot claimed.

I thought it was supposed to be Puerto Rico? But I can’t blame them for keeping their distance, at least for the moment.

I’m sure they’ve thought of the U.S. Constitution for Iraq. But I assume it’s the Iraqi leaders (not the U.S. ones) that have to finalize and approve it. Something written by a bunch of displaced Europeans from 230 years ago might be further from what’s right for Iraq than we think…

Also I wish them luck in making it more clear and ironclad, unlike ours which suffers from endless interpretation and argument over what the founding fathers were trying to say.

Being an ex-resident of Israel…

I doubt it

It’s a race! Perhaps that can be next season’s new reality show: America’s Newest State.
Participants will compete against each other in various categories, including:

The “winner” will become the official 51st state, and all its citizens will immediately be given US citizenship and a 100-point cholesterol increase.

Participants will include:

  • Iraq
  • Israel
  • Puerto Rico
  • Pakistan
  • Canada
  • The Lucky Winner of the McDonald's/Coca-Cola Southern Hemisphere Haiku Challenge
