It would also make sense to add rollers on the sides of the weight so you don’t need to make the torque arm so stiff and relieve some pressure on the central bearing.

I may eventually make one of the first design as I don’t think it would be to hard and relatively cheep. But I should probably learn to ride an UW first :slight_smile:

Another way, which I think works in theory but might realistically not generate enough countertorque is to have a gyro spinning at the end of the torque arm, with its axis in line with the torque arm. The gyro could be battery-powered or maybe keep spinning by rotational inertia (magnetic bearings and vacuum?). As long as the gyro spins fast enough, its rotational axis resists any change in orientation. Maybe the whole thing could be located in the central plane of the wheel, because you can’t have such a thing coming round against your legs, especially on an ultimate wheel.
