May I post twice in the same day? For example, after posting the best song I’ve heard today I might then hear another song that’s even better. If I can only post once per day, I will try to post late in the evening. Maybe even 11:59 PM to play it safe. Anything earlier than that is pure, irresponsible speculation and has no place in this thread.
Well it does say best song. So i guess what you are saying just squeezes into the thread title. 
Hmm, I stayed up the whole night. I listened to most of KY by Lemon Jelly, then half of Manu Chao.
And just half an hour ago I was listening to Whatever Happened to You by Madrugada. That was sort of rather fitting the occasion, reflected my pain and made me feel better, in a way. So, I’d say Whatever Happened to You by Madrugada is the best song I’ve heard today.
This is not based on pure artistic merit, but on relevance to me as a human being and my emotions, experience during the playing of the song. Could’ve been The Dog Waltz for all you care.
But hey, it’s only six in the morning, I’ve still got 18 hours to listen to more songs!

I’m going to take this to mean the best song you’ve heard today that you didn’t have control over. Otherwise the best song is going to be whatever I play next.
Best song I heard today was Boston “Don’t Look Back” twice. First time at a restaurant while eating lunch then again in the car (on the radio) on the way home.
Well by that logic, then probably the song City of Angels by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. It came on the radio while I was working tonight.
I like these rules, they should make for more interesting posts.
The best one I heard today was Four Strong Winds by Neil Young. It came out of the bike boom box on the Tuesday Night Bike Ride.
I didn’t hear any songs today that I didn’t choose to listen to.
