The best movie quote of all time?

What do you think is the best movie quote?

I like: “So can we have your liver then?” -Monty Python’s, The Meaning of Life

Barry: I’m lookin’ at your face and I just wanna smash it. I just wanna fuckin’ smash it with a sledgehammer and squeeze it. You’re so pretty.

From Punch Drunk Love, one of the best movies of all time.

I quote John Lennon, I don’t believe in Beatles, I just believe in me. After all, he was the Walrus. I could be the Walrus, I’d still have to bum rides off people.

Ferris Bueller.

Benjamin is nobody’s friend. if Benjamin were an ice cream flavor, he’d be pralines and dick.

Garth Algar, from Wayne’s World

One of my favorite quotes comes from the movie Tombstone. But it needs to be put in context.

Doc Holiday is suffering with Tuberculosis. He comes out to fight in a battle for his friend Wyatt Earp. He is coughing up blood. One of the other cowboys asks him why he is there instead of in bed. Doc says, “Wyatt Erp is my friend.” The other guy says, “Hell, Doc, I have lot’s of friends.”

Doc Holiday says calmly, “I don’t.”

That “I don’t” is one of my favorite movie quotes.

From Alphaville, une étrange aventure de Lemmy Caution:

Alpha 60: What is the privilege of the dead?
Lemmy Caution: To die no more.

Right turn Clyde…

From On Her Majesty’s Secret Service:
James Bond (George Lazenby) and Diana Rigg are in a ski chase in the Alps when one of the guys chasing them falls in front of a bladed-type snowplow. The stream of white snow shooting out of the “chute” turns pink for a bit, followed by:
“He had a lot of guts.”

For Jethro:
“I’m your huckleberry”
(same movie, same character)

“Camron is so tight, that if you shoved a lump of coal up his ass, in two weeks you’d have a diamond” -Ferris Bueller

“im sorry thats never happened before,
what, the 8 seconds of sex or the 40 minutes of crying?” -stewie griffin movie

From Monty Python’s The Life of Brian - “Splitter”.

I have been involved in ‘minority’ politics and that’s just how it is.

Cathy

“What we have here is a failure to communicate.”

Cool Hand Luke

The quote of the centuries has to be, “I am serious, and don’t call me Shirley.”

From the movie Anchorman

Ron Burgandy-your a dirty little pirate hooker

Veronica Corningstone- well you have bad hair

Ron Burgandy-GASP!!

Thanks, I’d always wondered where Guns N’ Roses took that audio sample from at the start of “Civil War”.

Andrew

Miracle Max: “Beat it or I’ll call the brute squad!”
Fezzik: “I’m on the brute squad.”

Then the best quote of all time-

Max (looking Fezzik played by Andre the Giant, up and down):
“You ARE the brute squad.”

I just love that one.

one more:
“It could grip it by the husk.”

I wasn’t familiar with the song, so I looked it up and found a clip. Yep, that’s the one. I’m glad I heard it, it reminded me that I always get the quote wrong. It’s “What we’ve got here is failure to communicate.”

Strother Martin played the role. Great actor. Great movie, see it if you haven’t.

Rich

“Why Pinto?”
BURP"Why not?"

“Every man dies… but not everyman truley lives.”
-Brave Heart

Chase

Punk kid gunslinger: “A man’s got to make a living, Josey.”

Clint: “Dyin’ ain’t much of a living, Boy.”

The Outlaw Josey Wales

“I love the smell of napalm in the morning, smells like victory”
-Colonel Kilgore, Apocalypse Now

I may not be the best, but it’s probably one of the best known movie quotes I’ve come accross. So many people know it, but not where it came from.
