I found this toy.
In the ‘Quick Links’ drop down menu (blue bar, top right, next to ‘Log Out’) is a ‘Whose Online’ feature that opens a page full of detail about who’s online.
Not quite the ‘at a glance’ option you mention, but it’s only two mouseclicks away.

Like this. Click the blue globe with the chain link symbol. Paste the link in. It gives you a link in your text with the link address as the text entry. Edit the link address in line.

Click the insert link button, then type/paste the url, and then click ok and start typing the text for the link. Or type stuff, select it and click the link button.

I don’t see the spell check button in either Mozilla or Firefox. Does it require a specific extension? Does it require Windows XP? Does it require some other external piece of software be installed? I’m using Windows 2000 so if it’s an XP thing I won’t see it.

Just make sure that you aren’t using the “Enhanced Interface (WYSIWYG)” editor that’s available under User CP >> Options. The Enhanced editor doesn’t let you edit the link text (at least not that I could find). The “Standard Editor” does let you edit the link text as you described.

I think it uses ieSpell and only works in IE, unless they found something for firefox or other browsers since this post: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=142935&highlight=iespell

wow this is really cool. i especially like the fonts feature. this is so cool. but a little confusing.
but over the next couple of days i am sure i will be able to figureit out.
