Thanksgiving Day Weight Gain Contest

My brothers and I have this contest every year on Thanksgiving. It’s pretty simple. It goes as follows:

  1. Before the meal we all weigh in and record our weights.

  2. We consume as much Thanksgiving day grub as we can.

  3. Finally, we weigh ourselves once we believe we have reached our limits in food intake.

The one who has gained the most weight wins! You have to be sure that each contestant is wearing the same clothes for each weigh in and that no one is stuffing extra weights under their clothing for he second weigh in.

It’s pretty fun. The winner gets the glorious title of biggest glutton for a full year!

If anyone else wants to try it we can bring this thread up after Thanksgiving and find out who the biggest gainer is!

Any takers?

Im in!!!

This should be interesting.

im in!

One more rule. You must use the same scale for both weigh ins.

can i join in even though i dont do thanks giving?

As long as you follow the rules, I think any large meal will do.

I am assuming that swallowing high density items such as candle holders and serving spoons is not allowed?.

I’m in.

So should we like post our weight the day before or something like that?

No, the day of, I think we should add a couple ponds to anyone with a picture to document it.

Most of the contest weight gain can be rapidly lost so don’t p*ss it away before the final weigh in. Seems there would be a distinct advantage to those who go in dehydrated, can consume lots of liquids, and hold their bladder well.

In the end it takes 3500 excess calories to gain a permanent pound of weight.

Okay, I am offcially in!!!

I’m in!

I am in remember, but I won’t get my official count in until Sunday because I will be away for Thanksgiving.

jerrick is gonna win, he eats ALOT

If you can get em down, why not? You just can’t stuff your pockets with those things when you go to weigh yourself after the meal.

My great aunt makes a fruitcake that would challenge the candle holders for density!

Okay, I had a dinner today.
Before: 63.5kg
After 64.4kg
Difference:0.9kg
Not very impressive, but still something. I’ll try harder tomorrow.

Uh, it’s not thanksgiving yet.

Is it considered cheating if I don’t eat much the day before? 'Cause I kinda do that anyway sometimes…

We’ll consider this your test run.

Just for those of us who don’t use metric that would be a weight gain of 1.98 pounds.

No, it’s definitely within the boundaries to eat light the day before. I heard of one guy who would eat about 6 pounds of grapes the day before and nothing else. This would stretch his stomach and remove all the contents from his digestional tract at the same time.

im in, but i read this late, and didnt get a chance to prepare myself throughout today
i am gonna need to remind myself about it tomorrow night though
