thanks and 1 more question

my seat rubs my legs, are seats comfier if you upgrade or should i stick to the hard rubber on for beginning? thanks in advance…

What seat do you have?

A lot of people modify their seats to suit their needs. Some saddles can be trimmed down or you can fiddle with the foam. Changing the angle of the seat so that the nose of the saddle points more upward can help.

Have you tried wearing the tight lycra style cycling shorts? You can wear baggy shorts over them if you don’t like the lycra look.

Some of the saddle discomfort is just because you’re learning. After you learn to ride better you will be more relaxed and you will learn how to ride without squeezing the saddle so tightly.

all seats chafe when you start out, it’s because you grip the seat tightly like j.c said.

try wrapping foam around the seat and hold it in place with tape.

when I started out my legs rubbed the seat a lot because when you ride a bike with no hand you put your legs in to stay up and steer. I’ve found it helps to spread your legs some and cover the seat in electrical tape.
