Terrorist ATTACK

I dont know if yall saw this, but there was a terrorist attack somewhere in scotland I think…Im still watchin. Turn ur tv’s on.

p.s. discuss

seriously?!

what happened?

Ha, no.
It was at Glasgow airport. Someone ran a van into it. No one was killed people were arrested the place started to burn.
Hardly a real terrorist attack.

haha

if it was a terrorist attack how embarrased would that terrorist be! lol

there were also two attempted car bombings in London…

haha, yeah I see now.

Still, they call it a terrorist attack…and so do I!

But dang…Im glad no one got hurt.

And about 30 people killed in Iraq in terrorist attacks most days - sometimes far more.

I think the incident in Glasgow was not terrorism.

Well, if we’re honest, Iraq is a far less civilised country and thats something that IMO, noone can do anything about.

8 real posts about the subject! That’s to many, okay guys, lets argue over the war in Iraq. I’ll get you started:
George Bush Invading Iraq was a terrorist activity.

If the guy drove the van into the building to hurt people/destroy property with the hopes of promoting his agenda it was a terrorist attack, regardless fo being small with no casualties. England has been doing a really good at thwarting terrorism through the proper law enforcement channels. But this one would be pretty hard to prevent even if they were given some rough info about it in advance.

If they had succeded in exploding all their gas, propane, whatever explosives they had, in crowds of people, along with the pile of nails they had that would have been driven into peoples faces all around the area, then would you call it a “real” terrorist attack?

It was a failed terrorist attack.

Wait, lets just invent some whimsical story that would pin the England terrorism attacks on Bush.

The fact that we’re even talking about it proves that it WAS successful.

Yesterday when I posted, I had heard several reports which did not characterise this incident as a terrorist attack. A burning vehicle with two people in it had been driven at airport building. It was being treated as “possibly” a terrorist attack.

With two people in the vehicle, and it already being on fire before it hit the building, there were other possibilities.

It is now being treated as definitely a terrorist attack. INdeed, there has been a further arrest of someone who was not in the actual vehicle.

No members of the public were hurt, but there has been substantial disruption.

No, it isn’t all George Bush’s fault. George Bush is largely responsible for America’s actions in Iraq. Assuming this attack to be connected to the Iraq situation, it will be a reaction to the UK’s actions, and Blair is primarily responsible for that.

As things stand, since the invasion, which the Secretary General of the United Nations said had no legal justification, about 70 000 Iraqis have been killed by westerners, and a few hundred westerners by Iraqis and their supporters.

Being dead is just as bad whether you are one of a few hundred or one of many tens of thousands. It is just as bad if you were lucky enough to be a civilized westerner, or an “uncivilized” person from the middle east.

A little bit of historical knowledge would make people more cautious about describing one group as more civized than another. Within the last 100 years, the west has been responsible for two world wars, the holocaust, and a persistent attrition of their own people’s lives through murder, drugs and alcohol. Within two miles of my home there are teenage girls selling their bodies on the street. In Northern Ireland, some members of rival religious groups are still smashing the legs and ruining the lives of young people from the “other” group.

In this country, the Slave Trade Act was only passed 200 years ago, and the Slave Trade Abolition Act in 1833 - only 174 years ago.

We have no monopoly on merit, morals or civilization. It is our misguided beleif that we do that causes half the problem. Why do you think the terrorists hate us that much? There are no terrorist attacks in Switzerland.
