Hey,
Alright, lately I’ve really been into tennis. It’s a lot of fun. I’ve also been watching the US Open.
So let’s talk tennis.

i can’t stand tennis, at all. it’s just SO uninteresting. maybe you could explain the appeal?
i don’t even consider it a sport. if something doesn’t have a very real element of danger (and competition against others), then i don’t count it as sport. biggest ‘danger’ in tennis (apart from being humiliated for playing tennis) is a tennis ball to the head. you don’t even need an aspro for that
swimming isn’t a sport either. biggest ‘danger’ = drowning… except they are PROFESSIONAL BLOODY SWIMMERS. fail. swimming is a competition, but not sport.
cricket. big deal, you can cop a cricket ball to the body somewhere… except the game is so damn slow-paced and generally no one cops a hit. again, not sport. lame, yes. sport, no.
rock-climbing != sport. it’s surely dangerous, but unless you are racing someone etc then there’s no actual competition except with yourself.
oh the list goes on and on.
…no true sportsman?
Hmm… I suppose knife fighting would meet your standards.
Max (any_terrain) and I signed up for racquets for our gym class and got in the same class together.
It’s fun…but we’re (especially me) probably the worst tennis players in our school, haha.
I play pickleball during intermurals at school Never tried actual tennis though
I’m pretty good at tennis. I stopped playing because I chose to focus on swimming more. I might try to play this year for fun (highschool).
3/10 on the troll attempt there. Too disorganized. Too obvious.
Barnaby Conrad, one of Hemingway’s contemporaries, said: “Only bullfighting, mountain climbing and auto racing are sports, the rest are merely games”

Freak Isaac. We’re into all the same things. Today I was at a Varsity invite even though I’m JV. I did well. Won the first match 8-0 and was losing the next match 2-5 when we got called off for rain. I was also watching a guy go for a shot, turn around, and run straight into the light post.
Favorite Player: David Nalbandian
maestro i’ve come to the conclusion that i don’t care much for what you say. maybe i’m wrong, but from other threads i’ve seen you ‘participate’ in i’ve noticed that you tend to NOT contribute to the actual thread and instead attempt to dig at specific users. i at least had the courtesy of asking what people liked about tennis… you on the other hand just decided to put attention on me.
maybe, just maybe, i’ve missed all the brilliance you’ve added to threads. if so i have seriously missed it, and only seen where you were the judge of other people.
either way, thanks for the attention but i don’t need it. i like to get discussions started, and if that means saying something that is ‘against the norm’ then so be it. if that means i’m a troll, i’m a troll then.
good day to you sir, and happy flaming.
Serena Williams has been all over the news for her recent outburst. Dang I miss Mac! (You CAN’T be serious!!!)
that man has alright arms. shame about the breasts, though.
Roger Federer lost.
I was glad to see someone other than Federer win.
By the way, does anyone know who Guillermo Vilas’ Maker is?
I played tennis for like 3 years but then I quit because my trainer wasn’t any good And how’s tennis and swimming not a sport? haha
Maestro’s posts are usually brilliant. You grow an attachment to them after a while.
And it’s one thing to discuss tennis, and it’s another thing to go into a thread about tennis and go LOLTENNIS IS SUCK. NOT EXTERMEEEEE and continue to smash something nearby into your head and click the post button confidently.
Some may not care for Maestro’s posts (including you) but I’m sure a whole lot of the community doesn’t care for your posts either. Maybe you should question why it is that he put attention on you.
Anyway, me and max are 0-8 matches in school for our classes tournament. We already lost to the worst team above us.
Posts by nubcake and maestro8 can be very similar in effect, if not angle or style.
I play tennis…alot lol I’ve played for like 5-6 years I think. I’m super pissed that Federer lost, him and Monfils, those are my favorite players. I’m hoping I’ll be top 3 on varsity this season, last year I totally got screwed and was put last on the JV team, but I went undefeated haha…wasn’t to hard to do
Kim Clijsters lives 4km away from me :). Since she won the us open, she will be treating free drinks for everyone living in bree this friday
We won our first game today making our record 1-8
I feel so pro.
We’re playing tennis in gym right now. I’m terrible at it, which isn’t a surprise since I’m generally bad at sports like tennis, pickleball, volleyball, ping pong, e.g. cause I have terrible 3D vision/hand eye coordination. I wear glasses for a reason
