Well its day 11 for the Semcycle and me the learner. I got in a lot of
time at the local tennis court this afternoon. Was able to do runs
the full length of the court - went there and back 10 times with only
three UPD’s. Some of the rides were wobbly still and occasionally I
even did an unintentional ‘idle’ but all in all I am pretty stoked
about my progress in freeriding so far.
Tomorrow I’ll try find a area that will allow me to ride for a longer
distance at a go as my turns are not quite good enough to do actual
laps within the tennis court itself… not sure how far I could pedal
in a straight line now that things are improving.
Great news! Tennis courst have one of the best surfaces to learn on because they are so smooth and you don’t have to worry about rocks or obstacles. Unfortunately, they are a little stricter at the local tennis courts and always kicked me out whenever I tried it! Keep at it, and very quickly turning will develop, awkward at first, but like everything else, it smooths out as time goes on.
nice going!
if i had moved my learning efforts from the garage to a larger area sooner, i swear i would’ve cut my learning time in half
dont put off the turns toooo long tho
they r kinda handy
and remember, the futher u pedal in a straight line, the more important the turn becomes

I have been eagerly waiting for a progress report. It sounds like you’re
moving right along. Congratulations again!
A good (safe) place to practice distance riding is a running track. It
allows you to ride as far as you can, has nice long straights and has
gentle turns which will help you when you get out on the streets. The
one near my house even has basketball hoops (on polls) near the track
which can be used as a launch point until you get a freemount.
