YOU all know those little fingerboards, welllllll i was wondering how u could make one out of wood(something called ply’s on youtube?) i’m interested in doing this, and maybe making a skatepark out of wood… still for the fingerboards. any thoughts?
Get a strip of ply wood (ply is a sheet of wood made up of several layers laid in different directions), heat it in the steam of a kettle and bend it, repeat this process until you have the profile you want, then cut the shape out.
u mean to take one of the layers?
we made tech-decks in industrial arts as an easy A. soak them in water for 24 hours and put them in between two pieces of bent wood that curves up and clap them down in a vice for 24 hours and sand down the edges to the shape of a skate board.
i found out how to, on these videos

very very very very helpful in my quest to make awesome techdecks, and with the mold it’s customizable and can make it wider/longer/blah blah blah:) anyone got any really wicked cool ideas for lips? length? wideness? any shape?
we made ‘techsnowboards’ out of aluminuim at school, sold them to people for $4.00 each. Cost nothing but a few minutes to cut and bend. Needless to say we ate like kings whilst the fad lasted.
we aren’t allowed to sel lthigns at school, it’s some law thing, otherwise i’d be selling wooden techdeck’s/boards to everyone cuz i take pride in my boards and they r frickin sweeeeet great kick
i just made the first half of my mold from bondo, it looks really nice i can’t wait to find some veneer ( nobody has veneer anyone know where ?) i’m thinking michaels craft store maybe?
anyone?
Here’s a place to get veneer: http://www.rockler.com/CategoryView.cfm?Cat_ID=1459&cookietest=1
(A quick check at Micheal’s crafts doesn’t show that they carry it)
someone on youtube said that aircraft wood can also be used? and it said it can be obtained at michaels idk i 'm gonna go up today and loook
that would most likely be balsa wood, which is very light and strong but relatively expensive. Ofc you can get it in very small pieces so it still isn’t going to cost a fortune.
it comes in like sheets, almost like posterboard
off topic but who listens to these laws, my friend comes into school every day with a back full of sweets and drinks and sells them, he makes up to £50 profit a week!!! he went and bought just over £100 worth of stock and got back more than double that!! there is business waiting, people just need to find it
it’s not that simple at our schoool, teachers lerk the halls waiting for prey to feast on, and we arent’ allowed to carry backpacks,
I sold little jawbreakers for a quarter and the big ones for 2 dollars last year. and made over 400 dollors profit.
lucky, i just got done clearcoating my tech deck board, i have to say this looks sweet and it costs nearly nothing compared to berlinwoods boards for around 30dolalrs (or 20 euros) i’d advise in making your own rather thatn spend tha tmoney, i probably have bout 18$ in all my supplies and i get to make about 15 more boards:D
I’m thinking about doing that buying and selling lollies (or sweets in America) at school since the tuckshop (or cafeteria) doesn’t sell anything sweet except icecreams.
I wonder if anyone could think of a way to make mini unicycles and sell them? If anyone did and sold them over the internet they could make a fortune!
Except they already do, and they haven’t.
