Tangential posting (was Re: Unicycle-related deaths)

Let’s see:

Human death by unicycling =>
Small molluscs killed by unicycles =>
Existence of God =>
Hitch Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy =>
???

Even the discussion of JM’s performance lasted longer than this.
Come on, folks! (including a certain orycteropodidate) :slight_smile:

My question was semi-serious - thanks David and John.
Was kinda expecting a link to the Darwin Awards, too.
I’ll tell my friend that unicycling is regarded as “mostly harmless”. :wink:

I’m sure you mean Orycteropodidae which, being the smallest order of mammals and includes only one species you must be referring to one Arnold the Orycteropus afer (Aardvark) or are there more of you lurking around :slight_smile:

I meant what I typed, in the sense that a member of chordata is
a chordate, of ungulata an ungulate, etc. But thinking about it, I should
have written tubulidentate instead. Thanks for staying on topic, Gary. :slight_smile:

Yes. By this means I can complain about faults in others that I sometimes
share.

Given the cost of moving a kilogram of anything into orbit, do you think it
likely that a future manned mission to Mars would take along a unicycle?
After
all, they played golf on the moon. A mini-giraffe made from carbon fibre
wouldn’t
weigh much… Bunny-hopping in low gravity - think of the possibilities! Off
topic answers only, please!! :wink:

Certainly after they start building mass launchers, sure. Probably the
first ones will be on equatorial mountains, but I like Wenger’s vision, so
dynamic and cool:

And of course, everything looks cooler after then nanotech revolution.
Flawless diamondoid self-repairing components, anyone?

Have you been chatting to Rocket?

The possibility of a serious injury or death while riding on Mars would be lower than on Earth; hey I’ve veered of on a tangent to the original topic :slight_smile:

Cheers, Gary

Hey, how is ol’ Rocket? I rode with him in the Torchlight Parade for quite some time. He amazed me by riding the double wheeler the entire length. There were some hairy moments and I was able to help him back onto his mount in spite of the kilt.
