Tamborine trials demo video...

http://gallery.unicyclist.com/albums/album359/Tamborine_Demo.wmv

Just got back from another fun demo. I also found out that I’m part of a team of riders who will be doing lots of gigs for events next year which should be fun. We’re going to build a portable course.

Unfortunately I didn’t make it past the first rung of my favourite ladder because it was horribly slippery from the dew on the ground. Even when I landed exactly where I wanted to I’d slip off!

The video has some unicycling on A-frames, a 6 or 7’ drop, some bike footage, a backflip on a mini motorbike, and a crazy praying mantis trying to attack the camera.

Enjoy…it’s in widescreen.

Cool little video. Was that the only attempt at the backflip?

That was awsome Andrew, nice work:)

wow, looks great, i notice when u did ur hop u let ur pedals do a bit of a rotation to take a bit off the impact, do u do that every time?, when i watched kris do it i noticed he leaned his body foreward, do you find it takes alot off the impact?

Thanks guys. Yes that was the only attempt at the backflip.

If you go to www.unicycle.2ya.com and have a look in the “Trials” section there’s a tutorial video which explains the technique I’ve been working on for dropping to flat. I’ve experimented a bit with other techniques (except seat out, landing static…which just plain scares me!) and I think this one really suits me. If it’s done correctly, which I’d say that one was, it seems to cusion the drop quite effectively. I was worried about slipping on top of the bobcat because there was a bit of dew there, but I’ll often jump out further to make transfering the force forwards easier. Depending on how far I travel horizontally I’ll either go into a little idle sort of thing like in that video or ride straight off like in the tutorial video.

One more thing…

That technique is my trials dropping technique. When I’m out dropping in a muni context I try to emulate Kris’ dropping technique as closely as possible.

VERY awesome stuff Andrew!
The comentator sounds pretty funny, is it distracting having someone commenting on everything your doing as you do it?
yeah very nice video, my favourite part was the stick insect
