I’ve taken a vow of silence to show my dedication to unicycling to my parents. I’m going to make it at [I]least[I] a week long but I aim to go longer. Have any of you guys and girls taken a vow of any sort like this before? and how did it go?
Isn’t this sorta breaking it?
That’s weeeeeeeeeird, man.
Good luck!!
Okay, you should make sure your parents know, so they don’t think your ignoring them.
Unless they’ve been telling you for the past 13 years to shut up, they won’t understand or appreciate it.
One new year, I made a life-changing resolution.
I didn’t smoke or drink or watch TV, ate healthy, didn’t need to loose weight, so I resolved to wear more green pants.
It was a great fashion year for me. It all made so much sense and my wardrobe was so diverse. The best part was what people said:
Green pants again: Oh yeah, you must really love unicycling.
some people go silent for charity, and get sponsored money
Like podzol said, how are they gonna relate unicycling to silence?
And, won’t it be kinda akward afterwards?
… … … … … … …!
It’s fine to take a vow of silence. Good luck. But for crying out loud, shut up about it.
My question is, why is this neccisary? Were your parents trying to make you quit unicycling or something? Why not just show your dedication by going out and riding a lot?
aren’t there better ways of showing your dedication to unicycling, why not do something like staying on your unicycle for 24+ hours or something crazy like that. and why do you have to prove this dedication to your parents?
It’s not as much proving my dedication to my parents it’s more just seeing if I can do it. I just used the dedication as an excuse
ok weirdo
Will you allow yourself to communicate non-verbally?
Gestures, email, text messages on cell phones?
I’m still considering going numb for a day or two. I thought about writing this plaque that I would hold up whenever anyone tried talking to me. It’d read that my doctor said I shouldn’t use my voice for a while or something along those lines.
hey Ivan, trying making yourself some cordial with limp arms. It is the most fun i have had for ages. make sure you have ample time to clean up before the parentals get home
