darn your avatar spyder, every time i read one of your posts, i do it aloud with the best hank hill impression i can muster

anydangway… tacos are good

I’m sorry but I’m going to have to go with Burrito’s on this one, they beat taco’s any day of the week

mike has got a point there

You’re failing to recognize the possibility of multiple servings. Now, I can easily put down three or four tacos, but only a select few can achieve the same numbers with burritos.

So whadda ya do if you want a little guac, some pork and a helping of steak? Three tacos please!

Although you have your mainstay of getting mulitiple variations on taco’s your missing out on some good celantro rice and beans + you can get way more cheese salsa guac and sour cream in one burrito than you can fit on 3 taco’s

One of my buddies calls this a “sleeping pill”.

After you finish a large tortilla filled with so many toppings, you’ve no choice but to go to sleep.

The tacos served in this town are loaded with cilantro, some come with beans, but none with rice. All on a warm corn tortilla. Keep in mind, we’re pressed up against the Mexican border, so we’re getting 'em straight from the source.

Two words. Al pastor. Mmmmmmm!

How is the Mexican food on the East Coast?

some good, some bad. but most made by first or second generation mexicans.

ITs really hit and miss on the east coast, alot of missing too I would deffenatlly say I’ve had alot more bad mexican food than good.

I spent last summer out in California and ate out at quite a few taqurias and all of them were hands down better than anything I’ve had on the east coast.

Lucky for me though my campus literally has 6 places to get burrito’s 3 of them being decent to good.

Menudo.

Never had it, but it does sound interesting…

Ingredients:

1 calf’s foot (about 1 to 1 1/2 pounds)
2 pounds honeycomb tripe
1 large onion
3 cloves garlic, peeled
6 peppercorns
2 teaspoons salt, or to taste
4 quarts of water
A comal or griddle
3 large chiles anchos
A spice grinder
A large chile poblano, peeled or 2 canned, peeled green chiles
The calf’s foot
1/2 cup canned hominy (1 pound) drained (see note below)
Salt as necessary
1 scant teaspoon oregano

In all seriousness Im sure its really really good but its no burrito…

the best mexican food i have had was… darn it, i forget the name, its a chain of resturants, i first saw one around washington d.c.

the name will come to me, but theres that darn 10 minute rule…

got it! chapotle!

Actually, I judge Mexican restaurants by their huevos rancheros and chile rellenos. If I go to a place that serves chile rellenos, I ask them how they serve it. If they want to know whether I want beef or any other meat in it, I order something else because at that point I know I’m not in a Mexican restaurant. I’m at Chi-Chi’s or Jalepenos or Chipotles or Taco Bell or Azteca. Then, I might as well get a burrito or taco or peanut butter sandwich.

It’s like a Rueben sandwich in a deli. If they ask you if you want pastrami or corned beef with it, order something else. They don’t serve Ruebens there.

For some odd reason Menudo is only sold on weekends, sometimes only on Saturday. What’s the deal with this?

The only good thing I’ve heard about Menudo is that it’s a good cure for a hangover. Looking at the list of ingredients, I’d rather have the hangover.

Harper who said anything about mexican resterants? We were talking taqurias. Theres a time and a place for chile rellenos, but that place isnt lunch.

So which is it Burrito or Taco ?

I feel your pain with the ruben’s it is difficult to find a place that has a good ruben anywhere these days.

Menudo sounds like the Mexican equivalent of haggis.

It has been a while since I’ve eaten meat, but here on the East Coast I can’t remember ever being asked if I wanted meat with chile rellenos or pastrami on a reuben. I do enjoy freaking people out at restaurants when I order a reuben, hold the corned beef.

Burrito. Hands down.
