That’s one hell of a swim…
So he crosses half the Mediterranean, decides it’s too far and heads back? That is insane. Why is the headline that he only crossed half the Mediterranean?
No, he started out in the middle. On an island. Did you read the article?
I did read the article. But the part about him starting on the island of Cyprus didn’t click. My brain read that part and pictured him starting in Turkey.
My familiarity of geography around there is weak as it is and that got compounded by some poor reading comprehension. I didn’t mean to ignore Cyprus.
Don’t worry cause i’m from Cyprus and people always confuse me for being from Greece. Not remembering that there is another greek speaking country.
Less discussion of crippled geography knowledge and more oohs and aahs about the mighty feat of human ability, will and determination.
Ooh. Aah.
I don’t like going in the sea.
I’m afraid an octopus will eat me.
Or I’ll stand on a jellyfish.
at first i read the title of this thread as “slytherin swimmer crosses half of Mediterranean”
There are people out there with average daily post counts in excess of 26.8 and you expect us to pay attention?
Edit: Yes, that was one hec of a swim.
Maybe you’re right. This thread’s been around for over a week and it’s got about 80 views. I guess people just shutdown when they see my name on these forums. Oh well…
Naw, he decided it was too far and drowned.
The whole Mediterranean is now concerned about Syria’s new naval attack unit of elite swimmers. The unit is now known to be able to cross half the Mediterranean. Stealth landings and attacks may follow. The beaches of Cyprus can no longer be considered safe.
I can’t even imagine being able to stay awake and fully functional for almost 3 days without sleep.
But to dive in the water, knowing that you are going to do nothing but swim 24 hours a day for the next day or so, is just amazing. He must be some sort of super human.
And the people from the shore who couldn’t swim themselves shouted ‘hey, where’s the other half of your swim?’ as they walked away whistling the aquaman theme song
Impressive stuff.
I wonder what size cranks he used.
Hmm? What was that again?
I realised that the day a friend of mine cut his foot on a piece of an aluminium can.
Sad stuff…
haha, when I read the title I assumed he got halfway, then got tired and drowned.
It’s like here on some beaches too Ivan. But don’t worry cause when you come, i’ll take you to Bondi, Bronte and Cronulla and we’ll try and look for a Mrs Ivan.
Me 2.
