Sweeny Todd

Is anybody going to see it? I never go to the theatre but I’m totally wanting to see this one! Sweeny is like, the best musical ever. They’d better not screw it up… It didn’t look like they had actual opera singers in the cast… But I havn’t seen many bad reviews… I’m excited!!

BENJMIN BAAAAARKEEERRRRR!!!

I’ve never seen the original, but the new one looks fantabulous!

gjjh

I think I am going to go see. My mommy doesnt want to because “It looks soooooo depresing” but I think it looks interesting. interesting enough for me to go see it.

Oh, it’s great! I won’t tell you the ending… but it’s pretty grim. But it’s still great.

Sweeney Todd with Angela Lansbury and George Hearn is my favorite play/musical of all time. I hope the movie does it justice, but from everything I’ve heard it does and more!

Is the new movie a musical also?
it looked good but i would rather have acters than singalong.

thats what I thought to.?

The music is amazing. It would be a crime to make a movie without the music.
Except, like Jackie said, they don’t really have any opera singers. I heard Jonny Depp singing part of it a few days ago and he kinda sucked. A lot.
Hopefully they didn’t pop it up too much…

Well, as we all saw, the Jonny Depp remake of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was horrible…I know it’s not a musical, but Jonny Depp remakes in general seem to not be nearly as good as the original.

Anyway, I don’t really have any intention of seeing this movie.

Im put off from that fact that Johny Depp is in the movie. Besides that, I think it will be pretty good.

Wait… was there another Sweeny?

yep… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweeney_todd

I like Tim Burton and I like Johnny Depp.
so hopefully.

Chase

Late bump, I know.

But I just had to say this:
AWFUL.

The main character is a static character with barely any esoteric change throughout the movie.

Let’s not forget the fact that the entire second act is simply pointless slaughter, and the third act has no resolution, simply showing that Sweeney really is an exemplar of a “Demon”

Don’t get me wrong, Johnny Depp is an amazing actor, and so is the other person, (name slips my mind, but she was Marla Singer in Fight Club.)

I’ve never been one for Tim Burton’s style of teenage morbidity and supposed “art”

Sorry, Goats, you caught me on a bad day. :o

EDIT: And let’s not forget that that date resulted in absolutely NO action. heh

Helena Bonham Carter (Tim Burton’s wife)

Personally I loved it, and I’ve only seen a crappy internet version. But then I’m a big Burton fan.
