Me & my friend Casey just got back from San Diego where we each surfed the “Flowrider” and “Flow Barrel” wave machines! While Casey is a very experienced Flowrider, this was my very first time ever! They said it usually takes at least a day of practice before you’re able to stand up on a board and ride, and then you’re lucky to stay up for 10 seconds! I was riding standing up less than 10 minutes, and going for minutes at a time! I did have a few spectacular wipeouts, but those were fun too! I guess uni skills help with balance.
How much for a session?
Do they shut it off if you tank?
Looks like fun!
Something like 7 years ago, I had the privilege of surfing in one of Surfstream’s first prototypes (they’re a competing company, same general idea). Informal photos I took of us having fun wound up being their first promo shots.
But the big lesson I learned that day was that I’m terrible at surfing. It was great fun though!

Are you going to get that shut down as well now?
