I’ve got a daughter turning 7 in March, and will be buying her her first unicycle. Her inseam is 23" which, according to unicyclist.com, puts her at an 18" wheel.
Without dedicating all my free time to this process, I’ve narrowed it down between the Sun and Jugglebug. Can’t imagine there’s a huge difference, but I do want to get her one she will enjoy riding. Any opinions?
Thanks,
Brian
With that kind of uni there isn’t much difference because you aren’t looking for strength or anything like that (I don’t think she will be going off big drops). I think either of those would be good for that. The juggle bug is more colorful if that is important. I like the look of mag wheels too.
Now realize there isnt a whole lot for the 18 in wheels. it is verry hard to find tires, tubes, replacement rims, spokes, rimstrips for this wheel size.
Get her a 20" and cut the stem
honestly, i would start on the sun, thats what i started on, all my friends i taught learned on my sun, and for me and them its been a great one for learning
I second that, it’s really easy to do and it will save you money in the long run, plus it is really easy to get replacement parts.
i third the 20" idea…you will be glad you did.
Go for a 20" sun. It should hold up well with all the abuse. That was my first unicycle. I had it for like 3 years…and i took it off drops up to about 3 feet. I weighed (at that time) about 120 lbs. Then again it could of been luck but that was a nice uni.
KH.
A 20" with a short seatpost, will probablly fit her now, and then it can grow with her.
A 20" it is! Thanks for the input!
