Trying to do a stand-up coasting stillstand in my basement wasn’t too bright. I wasn’t injured at all, but the unicycle shot out from under me backward and put a hole in the wall.
I’ve done that twice, both times on my coker. I was going fast enough that it just tore the laces in half so I didn’t even come off the unicycle, it was just one fast tear. The dumbest thing I’ve done is probably trying to kick mount. That hurts in a bad way…
Touche.

I was at my friend’s house (maybe drunk/high) and I decided that I would ride my unicycle into the pool…
It was much harder to ride underwater than I had expected a priori.
Sometimes I do unispins and miss and cut up my shins…and keep doing it. I’m left with scabby shins for the next week.

The first one I thought of was similar: Riding a geared-up Schwinn Giraffe in a 75km March of Dimes charity ride. Rock-hard seat. At the end of that day my friend (Bradley Bradley, who rode a similar giraffe) and I weren’t worried about having kids, just wondering when we’d be able to pee without that nasty burn! But at least it was for a good cause.

Ride on a 6" wide wall with a 20’ drop to one side.

Ride a unicycle with no seat on it.

Trying to dive off a diving board. Your body doesn’t get the forward rotation you might expect, leading to a nice uni and body belly-smack!
I used to do bad unispins all the time with guards, and get pedal bite after pedal bite. (Wich comes to the first stupid rule of stupidics: You’ll only fall when your not wearing protective gear.)
Which comes to the first rule of stupidics: You’ll only fall when your not wearing protective gear.
I have done that at least twice (maybe more). One of the times I kindough fell of the road into a ditch just as a car was going by. I bet they thought I was pretty stupid
I too have experienced that phenomenon. The first time was with boots with really long laces, One foot of lace rapped before it pulled tight, threw me to the ground, and finally snapped.
The next time I was not so fortunate. I was again wearing boots. However, they had new laces, which made them unbreakable, and I was going as fast as I could (riding with my friend on a bike). When the uni finished giving me a shoe wedgie it dumped me off, and decided to leave me hopping at full speed with it attached to me.

theres a brown tube sticking out of my front yard for the well, it has a cap bolted on and i was riding to the rode from my door to practice some stuff and suddenly the ground got alot closer FAST! my lace got caught on the bolt and ripped my off the uni. im sooo glad noone drove by cause it sucked!
Once I was riding and my shoelace was caught in my hub and as it tightened I pedaled harder, thinking I could ride through it, because I am a dope/hardcore ninja, but it ripped my Chuck Taylors apart and totally destroyed the shoe.
i tried to teach myself how to one foot stillstand unfortunatly every time i lost balance i would shoot forward then backward into my “self”
i love that it was one of the stupidest things ive ever done like trying to go and then like coast and spin on the seatpost while still going foward…
Stupidest thing for me was believing Harper when I was riding at speed on my Coker and he told me my shoelace was untied.
Fortunately, I’m not the only fool in that club…right Jan?
last year i was riding at my old elementary school w/ catboy, and I got the bright idea to do a still stand on top of the monkey bars. well long story short, my wheel got stuck, i started to fall sideways, my feet wouldnt come off the pedals, I fell off sideways landing with my feet still up on the monkey bars, causing me to dislocate my hip. it suck’d
Goatman!, I was just noticing your sig line…were you really born a poor black child?
Boy do I feel dumb. Good thing there is already a thread for my story.
While I was eating breakfast this morning, I glanced at my mud covered newish KH muni sitting on the kitchen floor only to notice that the cranks didn’t look right. Now, last weekend I took it on its hardest ride yet, so I was afraid that I had broke something.
“No, that can’t be,” I thought to myself. “That muni is way too strong.”
I thought, perhaps, the angle I was looking at the cranks through the spokes were fooling my eyes to make them appear maligned. But no, I picked it up and sure enough, the cranks weren’t 180 degree from each other.
In the back of my mind I was remembering all the complaints about noisy KH hubs wondering if something was really wrong with mine. So, in a mild panic, I grabbed a wrench to remove the cranks. Both bolts came off fine. Then I wiggled the cranks loose. I inspected the splines. No problems. Everything is fine.
After calming down and sliding the cranks on and off a few times, I realized that the reason they were crooked is that they were off by a single spline. And I’ve been riding it that way since sometime in June. I never really liked the way the cranks felt, and I thought it was due to their length. I guess I’ll have to wait until my next ride to see if it was just the improper installation that was bothering me.
Here’s a couple of more recent ones for me:
-
Going on ANY ride through shady nature, in other words where poison oak (or ivy) may grow, and not bringing Tecnu with me to the ride.
-
On my most recent solo MUni ride, trying to ride the full length of the Forresthill Divide Connector Trail, after climbing up 1000’ on the Clementine Loop, without knowing how long that trail was, and how much up & down it contained. In the end I think I rode about 15 miles, without having done any trail riding in two months, and still didn’t complete the Connector Trail…
The Jerk!
falling of the auto balecing motor unicycle
geting thrown over and off the auto balecing unicycle backwards.
havin the auto balecing uni ram me in the nuts at 10 mph. (what a fun day)
leving my unicycle in the front yard, someone took it.
burning my self while smoking/ ridng.
and last but not least- pre wraping my laces around to pedals so they would get caught and it would be like riding clip ins. It wasnt like that, at all. i rember a faceplant and being ableto do nothing about it
I decided I wanted to go down a stairwell with a sax case in hand. Lets just say I made it down to the bottom. It just so happens not everything came down at once.
