Torkers are actually fairly good unicycles. My CX held up almost a year. Almost all unicycles break eventually if you abuse them enough.
Torkers rule, kiss my ass, and reweld it!
Either you have really bad techneak (sp?) or you put a lot of abuse on it. If you have good landins and dont put akward pressure on it or anything it should hold up fine. Mine do.
There have been a few past threads and pictures of broken Torker DX and LX frames. Hereās one: Torker/Unistar DX frame breakage
It should be repairable. The question would be whether or not the repair would cost more than a new frame.
It does seem that the Torker frames could do with some better welding on that part of the frame. Theyāre still good unicycles for the price.
I went to ride my torker and noticed the top seemed to be bent away from the frame. Turns out I was probably one good fall away from snappin the top clean off. thankfully, Iām being sent a new frame, yay, should arrive next week. Glad Iām not the only one, I thought I was just too XTREME for torkers, better get a GB4ā¦
Yoopers just got a new welder. Go over to this thread and ask him to weld the frame for you.
Iād like to, but I beleive they want the frame for proof
In my opinion, itās usually not fair to pass knee-jerk judgement on a device or situation over one incident. Torkers have a great track record. But unicycles are like anything else, they have a certain length of life and then they break. As has been suggested, your situation may even have occured with any other brand of unicycle as there are many factors involved.
John, I think you might mean this thread.
They sent you a new one fo free, I shoulda done that!
and before the frame crackage, they were kind enough to send me a new bolt when my other one worked itās way out. I was out muni ing and didnāt even notice it was gone till a ways down the trail my crank fell off. I now have loc tite on that there bolt
practice hopping on a pogo stick. Jump as high as you can and when you land donāt let it compress at all. I did this and then tried jumping arund on my uni. Now I land more cat like.
I just got a Torker DX for the missus and it comes with a TORKER Limited Warranty; if you filled out the Registration Card and sent it in youād get yourself a replacement (of course, if youāve your proof of purchase and youāre the original purchaser):
ā1. The frame is warranted to the original purchaser for as long as he or she owns the b*cycleā
However, if youāve bent the frame, no dice:
ā7ā¦ Bending is a sign of abuse or punishment inconsistent with the bikeās intended useā
ā10. This bcycle is not designed for use in stunt ridingā¦ or similar activities and this warranty is void where the bcycle has been used in any of these ways.ā
And, sh*t, the last clause completely blows most of us online shoppers out of the water:
ā13. This warranty is null and void if this b*cycle has not been fully assembled by an authorized TORKER Dealerā
Okay, never mind, the warrantyās a useless piece of cr*p. Just another case of lawyers taking all the fun out of a potentially fun sport. Frickinā idiots!
Yeah I 've read that. āNot intended for stunt ridingā HA! Yeah rightā¦
Registration card? I threw that away. I just email the company directly and called about the frame
I haveā¦at least 3 of those cards laying around somewere, that I never did anything withā¦
mine didnt come with one i bought through a bike shop
