Stupid question that just popped into my mind… Getting DSL… its like cable
where we can get a router or hub thing and use more than 1 computer at a
time on it, correct? I always thought you could but then of course I had a
little doubt in my mind…

Yep. In fact the “DSL modem” (like the “cable modem”) is not actually a
modem but a router. There are models available which support multiple
computers. (Or you can get a regular modem in addition).
My DSL provider actually sells and supports some of these modems.
