Stupid Question of the day???

OK, I am new here, but Unicycled for 32 years? I tried to hold off asking this question, thinking I would figure it out on my own (I haven’t).

I know that UPD means to fall off the uni, but what does it stand for? U________ P_________ D____________?

Go ahead, abuse me for the stupid question… I’m big enough to take it.  --chirokid–

Re: Stupid Question of the day???

hey chiro, u of all people should know that the only stupid question is the one u dont ask!!

Un-Planned Dismount

someone will post a link to the original use of the term soon

and i’ll give u good odds on it being klaas

Variation: UPDV=Un-Planned Dental Visit

As in: My last UPD lead to a UPDV

I would give you the link to the original useage, but I don’t know where that is. But UPD stands for Un-Planned Dismount. The idea behing it is that when a unicyclist falls off, it’s not really a fall, unless they actually fall down. A UPD is not a fall; it’s just a dismount you weren’t planning on making.

“There are no stupid questions, but there are a LOT of inquisitive idiots.”

Actually I thought UPD meant Unusually Promiscous Dog. Like if someone were to say “I had a flawless ride though the park untill that UPD ruined everything.” Or perhaps “My butt has hurt ever since that UPD I had.”

So i guess that Un-Prepared Dismound would make more sence.

Oh hell…

Here is the first use of unplanned dismount, that I could find.

Here is the first use of the acronym UPD to mean “unplanned dismount”, that I could find.

Now I know…

Thanks for all the info on UPDs. My best guess was going to be UPendeD.

I guess I did not know what a UPD was because I’ve never had one. Did I say that? --chirokid–

Re: Oh hell…

yeah, i believe that was the first one…
