stuff to keep you out of the hospital

Howdy everyone,

I injure myself on a regular basis while muniing; in fact I just finished a six
week period of no riding due to a sprained ankle, but I have started using some
gear that is saving my life (literally!). The Roach pads (the ones Kris Holm
uses) are incredible. Comfortable, flexible, easy to put on and take off,
they’re perfect for muni! They’re available at unicycle.com, and I would
seriously suggest them to anyone who desires to keep their arms and legs (and
knees) intact while riding.

The other product is the Active Ankle (another suggestion from Kris Holm), a
volleyball hinge style ankle brace that is easy to use, you can’t even tell it’s
on when you ride (or walk- I wear mine almost every day due to my recent
injuries) and they give more support and protection than you could imagine!

Well, that’s all for now, just thought I’d share my thoughts.

I also swear by the Roach knee/shin guards and the Roach arm/elbow pads. They
are much more comfortable than regular knee and elbow pads, and offer much
better protection.

Thanks for mentioning Active Ankles. I ordered a pair today. I have sprained my
ankles many times riding on snow/ice, and really knocked up an ankle landing on
my ultimate wheel.

Of course now I look like a Seattle police officer when I ride down the
trail…

Anyone know where I can order a pair of these Active Ankles from a UK or
European web shop? I’m having difficulty finding a decent site to order from the
US because of postage, SSL transaction, etc.
