Street vs Trials - definitions please!

So it looks like in both types of uni’ing you hop up onto stuff and jump off of stuff. So what’s the difference between street and trials? Are there any video clips that contain both such that the difference between street and trials is clearly demonstrated or at least obvious to the viewer?

thanx

In short, Trials is about making it onto/over/around the stuff. Street is about combining that with tricks and style, and the tricks and style can be done on the flat as well. There have been threads about this; try a search on “trials street” or similar combinations.

Also check out the IUF Rulebook for the competition rules. I guess those are the actual “definition” of what each one is, as you have to do that stuff to win.

well done johnfoss

Thank you John!

You certainly know what you’re talking about my friend and you can back up whatever you say too. Which is also impressive.

it may even help u to see what trials is by looking at Trials Biking and motorbiking… they all have the same goals!

street is usually done in an urban enviroment but rarely in a natural enviroment
trials is done in both
trials is about doing hard things.
street is about taking easy things and making them hard
