Making animations is a fun thing you kan do with your kids. I bought The Klutz Book of Animation to get started. My 8 year old made this one:

My brother did a bunch of super-8 pixelation animation and other variations back in the late 70s, early 80s. I have them on a poorly-made VHS transfer; got to get the originals properly digitized, but they are in Michigan. One of the films we did was a flying unicycle. Hop with a bit of forward motion, and click a frame at the apex of each hop. 
The flying uni is a great idea. Maybe someone could make one? Terry Peterson?
