Stole my pic to sell Savages on EBay

Here’s the EBay item:
http://tinyurl.com/98na
“NEW 6 FOOT 20 inch WHEEL GIRAFFE UNICYCLE”

Click on the lower “Click on a picture to enlarge”. That’s me on my
Matthews (not Savage) giraffe.

He must have grabbed the pic off my web site:

The first I hear about this is when a friend asks me if I’m really
selling my giraffe.

Check out his other auctions Mark- I found another where he is actually actioning off you. I’m thinking of biding, but ain’t too sure how much a Mark should go for (I’ll scalp it 1 minute to closing, anyway).

yikes

Have you contacted the seller? This clown is obviously selling lots of cycling-related items, and this is not a one-off giraffe he’s offering. He has no business using your picture without your permission. Let him know!

Re: Stole my pic to sell Savages on EBay

Mostly I’m annoyed with the implication that it is a representative picture
of the unicycles he is selling. Not that you can tell the difference at that
image size.

He’s a scumbag anyway for using the phrase “HEAVY DUTY CONSTRUCTION” to
describe the Savage.

Did you contact Ebay and alert them to this fraud?

Re: Stole my pic to sell Savages on EBay

I emailed the seller yesterday and told him to stop using my picture. If he
uses it on another listing, I’ll complain to EBay. But from what I’ve heard,
EBay doesn’t really give a sht. In fact this is insignificant compared to
some of the more serious things that EBay doesn’t give a sh
t about.

RE: Stole my pic to sell Savages on EBay

Mark,

I think ebay does care. We had the same problem, even though our photos
clearly have the copyright symbol. We emailed the seller several times,
but he refused to reply, so we notified ebay. They sent a standard form
which we completed, and then they followed up with a note that the
seller had removed the photos.

This came to light when an ebay buyer expected us to provide warranty
service on a product that we didn’t sell. We’re fairly liberal with our
warranty policies, but that’s stretching it a bit.

I knew you guys were seedy!

Did you at least mail the ebay buyer a bumper sticker?

Re: Stole my pic to sell Savages on EBay

I saw those ads. He even copied the text word-for-word from unicycle.com.
