On the ‘trials skills levels’ list, I’m about a 6. To make it to 7, I need to still stand for 6 seconds.
I like these trials skills way more than the ‘standard skills’, but most people say I’m better than average at still standing, and I can definitely do it sometimes, but its hard to do 6 seconds consistently. So I was pleased with myself when I got it on the first try.
Then from a film editing point of view, I took that first take, single one clip, and tried to make it interesting.
Also, it symbolizes that I’m back from my injuries. The torn mcl, sprained neck, shoulder and wrists… all healed… I’m good to go.
And then my harddrive crashed… so I better post this while I can… enjoy
I liked 0:41 where I have a huge bum and no head.
I hadn’t planned to do that effect… just worked out perfectly.
Its fun challenge to make a video from one take and one clip.
Ultra low budget film
I dont think the skills chart is quite done/public… here’s the level 7 bits, which I find alot more sensible than ‘standard skills’. But the drop and 180
s are too easy, and still stand is hard to get consistent.
LEVEL 7

koolio nice
i would prob be level 2 trials… when i measure trial levels i think how far and high you can leap and also biggest drop + landing skinny riding etc. good job
I do have a small 2x4 I like to keep handy.
I’d like to see 180 hop twist on 2x4 be added to the skills list. Its hard not to do a corrective hop after doing a 180.
Still Stands I like to practice at work. Theres only so many skills you can practice in a confined office environment… although there certainly are some tempting lines…
Ah… train tracks… hadn’t thought of that.
Thats the kind of skill I like… ones that can be used in the wild.
I mostly do trials that I can apply to muni. So I was thinking skinny logs that come to an obstacle or crazy drop. The seat drop is an elegant way to wuss out of those too
