There was an article in one of the early Unicycling Society of America
Newsletters where Bill Jenack wrote about a guy in his early 90’s learning to
ride. This was probably when Bill was editor, 1974-77.
You may also have read someone mentioning that article on the ng once
upon a time…

ditto:
One of the most heartening and encouraging things at the beginning for me (and
that beginning was quite recent!) was reading others’ newbie posts, (or
anyone’s newbie) remeniscences when they were a little further down the track.
I just devoured that sort of stuff on the net. Also, reading of folk that were
starting in their mid-thirties (as I am), 40s, 50s, and (as clearly
demonstrated) – beyond !! It made me feel I was “normal” and that it WAS
possible to succeed at this.

Hear hear! Best “I’m new to unicycling post” in a long time! Imagine - Lowell
is going to teach his great grandson to unicycle sometime soon - that might
be a first?

Thanks Nathan, but since I’m just starting I’ll bet he ends up teaching me
some things. Kids are faster at learning this stuff. I’ll just try to keep
up with him.

Where did I read that the oldest guy to learn was 80 or 90 or something? I
couldn’t find it on the .org site…?
