Spring

(Note, this never made it to rec.sport.unicycle, so I am reposting it here. Sorry if you have seen this before).

Hi all,

In the great north (Montreal), we had a glimpse that there might be life after winter, yet we are still in this netherland where it is somewhat cold (0 to -15C), icy, windy, snowy and generally unfavorable for unicycling.

Last weekend, in a little break from the frigid weather, I decided it was time to see how my skills had deteriorated throughout the winter and got the uni out. I was greatly surprised to realise I actually improved, with no practice whatsoever during the winter. This is another proof of an old concept of mine that training is overrated… Did anybody else ever noticed this phenomena?

I also acted on another lifetime goal of mine: commuting by unicycle. So I changed job (to make this even possible) and ordered a Coker, I am now looking forward to tame the beast, which may prove difficult considering my capabilities.

I will keep you posted on the progress.

I was among the few people who’d seen the original.

Yes please do. I for one read reports by new Coker riders with
interest even when not responding. I think I will be a new Coker rider
at some point.
