spray paint a miata??

hi, i am dan,
you probably know me from such recent threads like “used 26” power pashly muni, $250?? "

anywho, is there somthing seriously wrong about spray painting a miata seat? i mean i have a green seat, and i am buying a blue pashly, you get the picture.

thanks,
dan

so you decided to buy it,cool_____3 coats of blue then 3 coats of clear coat and that sould do fine…the cool thing about spraypaint is you can touch it up anytime__the longer you wait between coats the better as well____PEACE

Hey there, I spray painted mine red, with a few coats of Kilz (oil based
sealer/primer) and then a few coats of red overtop. It worked and looked
good fore a while but pretty soon, it couldn’t take the abuse and it’s now
chipping off, I only painted the plastic bumpers, I would think, but may
be mistaken, that would be all you would really want to paint. Dustin

getting the paint to stay on the plastic is going to be hard. i’d suggest not spray painting it, but rather brushing it on. give the bumpers a light sand to increase the roughness and thus giving the paint more to stick to and also, (i’m not sure what you guys have in the U.S.) buy a paint additive/ pre paint adhesion increaser (makes paint stick to the surface better), either way using a spray or brushing it on, it will not stay on too long and will eventually chip off. visit your local hardware store and ask for some help.
on a similar topic, has anyone ever thought about a glo-in the dark seat?

i worship jesus

A body shop can hit it up with some flex agent that will cause the paint to last longer and not peel/crack/etc.

I’m sure it’s comfortable, but just HOW did you manage to bolt a seat from
a Mazda Miata onto a uni frame?

Wait… You’re hauling your blue Pashley in your Miata (since it won’t
fit in the trunk) and you want the seats to match the uni?

Hmm…

i admit the miata seat from my car is a bit on the heavy side, but it provides the warmth and added back support i need. tho i am not yet sure i wanna paint the leather.

I can’t speak for blue Pashleys, but my no-particular-brand taiwanese uni does fit in the trunk of my 1989 Mazda Miata, if I put it in just right. The same is not true with a 2001 Miata - uni wouldn’t fit, so I took it back (the car, that is)
