Spoke Material?

Good evening. I am doing a student-designed experiment for a college course.
Does anyone know the exact material used for Nimbus spokes? UDC lists it as “stainless silver” spokes, but no more detail. I am looking for the material density.

I believe silver refers to the color only. They should be your standard stainless steel.

Thank you.

You could get in touch with Roger from UDC (user name is rogeratunicycledotcom). Maybe he has some more detailed information about the specific alloy for you.

Standard material is an austenitic stainless steel Sapim says 18-8, DT Swiss 18-10, so AISI 304 should be close enough. (Nimbus is likely to use something very standard).
If you need to be precise, you should also check whether the spoke is straight gauge or butted.
