Specialized Fatboy chopper bicycle (24x6 rear tire)

I saw this at a bike shop today. The bike has been out for over a year, but this is the first I had seen of it. It is a looker.

The rear tire is 6" wide and the specs say it is on a 24" rim though it looked a little larger than 24" when I saw the bike at the bike shop. Might be an optical illusion caused by that 6" wide tire.

The front tire is also nice and fat. The sidewall said 3.5" and it looked fatter than a 3" Gazz. Didn’t have a tape measure to check.

Imagine if Darren Bedford got his hands on that rear rim and 6" wide tire?

Here’s a link to the 2007 model. I heard that they have a version for 2008 as well.

And here’s a shot at a slight angle so you can see that the rear tire really is wide.

I couldn’t find it on that website… how much is it?

i love the spoke pattern!

$1700 USD
It’s not a kids bike.

i still think that is waste of money! thats a rip off. you could get a nice mountain bike that has a real purpose for that much.

Waste of money is relative. A bike like that is about style. Maybe cruise with it along the beach boardwalk. No serious riding. Just cruising to be out and to be seen. Is a convertible sports car a waste of money?

Yes! jk

I like it!

But it needs flames on it somewhere.

just light yourself on fire and ride.

8" Avid BB7 disc breaks! Haha! (I think?)

Lacing is nice, Ryan Leech rides a front wheel laced like that in some of his videos.

I have a poster of him on my wall right beside my comp, and his front wheel is laced like that.

DANG!

it’s a special (specialized??) hub…i can’t relace my sclumpf like it :frowning:

This past summer I was at my lbs looking for an alternative to my 24x3 fireball as I didn’t like the paper thin sidewall and we had come across this bike in the catalogue. The tech had told me that they had a bike in like that and that the specialized fatboy cruizer tires have a paper thin sidewalls just like the fireball so unfortunately I don’t think it would make that good of a uni tire.

I do think that bike looks pretty sweet though. :astonished:

i didn’t want the tire, i wanted the spoke pattern :frowning:

I see two of these things go past my office most days. Trust me, they don’t have style. They’re for people who think that having something that looks a little bit like a Harley Davidson is the same as having a Harley Davidson. You half expect them to make “Brrrrm brrrrm” noises with their lips when they’re alongside you at the traffic lights. A definite case of absence of style over absence of substance.

HILARIOUS!!!

sigged

While we’re picking bits and pieces out of Mikefule’s post, I thought I might as well pick out the funny bit.

nah my bits funnier

but thats still funnier

I do that on my unicycle, only I pretend I’m revving a motor scooter, not a motorcycle.
